MY LIFE ON SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS

Hellooooo and welcome back to my blog. Today I wanted to write to you guys, whoever you may be, about who I am in this magical world we call the internet, specifically regarding to who I am on social media platforms vs who I am in person. Typically, I’ll meet most people I have on social media in person prior to adding them or even following them in the first place. There have been many cases in which I've been asked why I spend so much time on platforms such as Instagram. Well here's why.

Being someone who puts in a lot of effort towards writing or finding a sort of escapism in photography, what I typically use in my spare time is Instagram, VSCO, or my news apps on my phone. I spend a lot of my time trying to find my own creative outlet through different people's work, allowing myself to somehow be inspired to be different and more creative. I am someone who enjoys appreciating my work others. I love YouTube personalities and photographers, for that reason, Instagram has always been in my top apps used on my phone. Another would definitely be VSCO because I myself am one who loves taking somewhat “artsy” photos and portraits for fun with whoever may be down to spend time watching me adjust and try new settings every time I go to shoot. Looking at other apps I commonly see myself on, are my news apps, just because I enjoy to stay informed with whatever may be happening in the world. I am subscribed to everything from the Washington Post to Dazed Mag, never Buzzfeed though, I'll try to move on from that comment without making any political statements to support it, regardless of how much time I spend on the internet, most of my time is invested in these three apps (not counting Spotify).

With anything regarding whether or not I am the same person in real life as to who I am on the internet or better yet, how I portray myself through social media, although this may sound weird, typically, after first meeting someone I have never met before yet known over social media, one of the questions I'd ask is if I am like anything they thought I'd be like in person. The usual response is yes but louder and well spoken, I've gotten that I'm smarter than people have thought I'd be LMAO. I'd say I'm overall happy with any response I've ever gotten with regards to what people have thought of me in the first place. What to expect when meeting me for the first time, I'd consider myself someone who is capable of speaking to anyone. I am extremely approachable given I am not intimidating whatsoever, I am someone who finds it difficult to be put in awkward situations and YES I am confident on both social media and in person when it comes to my body and how I dress. At the end of the day, everyone will have an opinion on me and the type of person I portray myself to be. People are allowed to judge me, we all judge everyone at some point, but I have never really let anyone's judgment shape the person I am today. This said i encourage who ever may be reading to do the same and try your hardest to avoid portraying yourself any differently. Stay true to yourself and till next time, friends.
